The Shenandoah Mountain Adventure offers an amazing challenge: 76 miles with over 7,000 feet of climbing on some of the most ideal mountain roads around! This year, Virginia’s Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance was recognized as one of three winners of the GAMSA awards. The Alpine Loop Gran Fondo Club is the Strava Community for cyclists training for the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo: Alpine Loop and Shenandoah Mountain Adventure routes. It’s the place to encourage, share and motivate for the big day – or just show your friends the crazy riding you’ve done! A select amount of meet-up group rides will also be announced via the Strava Club site. Keep up the great riding!
Mark your calendars! The 2014 Alpine Loop Gran Fondo will take place on Sunday, September 28 in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Registration for the 2014 event will open on January 1, 2014 at Noon. Participants will choose from three routes: the 35-mile Valley View Challenge, the all-paved 76-mile Shenandoah Mountain Adventure, and the 105-mile Alpine Loop featuring incredible mountainous dirt road climbs. A Finish Line Festival will provide a warm welcome for all cyclists returning from their adventure.
