33,000-Mile Challenge Victory!

PCAP WEB AD

As September – Prostate Cancer Awareness Month – has come to an end, 2020 Alpine Loop Gran Fondo #MyGranFondo participants have shared in an impressive achievement throughout the month – riding a collective 44,119.39 miles and surpassing the 33,000-Mile Challenge goal!

We celebrate this victory as  a way to share the important message of prostate cancer screening and early detection.

The 33,000-mile Challenge spotlights the importance of screening and early detection in the fight against prostate cancer. Each year in the US, 33,000 lives will be claimed by prostate cancer. Screening and early detection are proven highly effective in reducing this rate.

The Prostate Cancer Awareness Project (PCAP) was founded with the hope that no man experiences a post-metastasis prostate cancer diagnosis. One in every six men will develop prostate cancer, but simple blood tests allow for early detection. The PCAP encourages all men to have these tests, and personally track their annual results, as part of an annual physical exam and consultations with their doctor.

Cancer Journeys Foundation CEO, Robert Hess stated in his virtual start line address, “the conversations you have with the men in your life, in your groups, about prostate cancer, and taking an annual test; that is incredibly valuable to what The Prostate Cancer Awareness Project is trying to accomplish.”

To support this effort, PCAP has developed ProstateTracker.org a free PSA-tracking tool to monitor changes in PSA levels over time. Get a free account at ProstateTracker.org, and share this opportunity with men in your life. Share this opportunity with 6 men and it’s likely that you will save a life.
