2020 Registration is LIVE

The 10th edition of the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo will take place September 27, 2020.

Registration for the 2020 event is now LIVE at www.BikeReg.com/GranFondo.

The event is capped, and will fill in advance. Hopeful participants are encouraged to register early.

The Alpine Loop route will feature unpaved dirt and gravel roads, and the event offers many of the classic paved routes as well.

2020 fundraising will support the Cancer Journeys Foundation Prostate Cancer Awareness Project.

2020 Hotel Offers

The Alpine Loop Gran Fondo will take place Sunday, September 27, 2020. Reserve your Harrisonburg-area lodging for the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo as soon as possible.

All lodging rates listed below are offered to Alpine Loop Gran Fondo participants first come, first served until hotels are booked. Many of these special rates expire 30 days in advance of the event. Book early!

2019 Event Photography

Photography highlights from the 2019 Alpine Loop Gran Fondo are now available.

The Bruce Buckley Photography team captured images from the early morning hours, on course, at the Porsche Red Carpet Finish Line Photo Booth, the Cancer Journeys Prostate Cancer Awareness Project podium, and all around the finish line festivities. They’ve got thousands of images. Soon a full gallery will be posted.

Photos from the Porsche Red Carpet Finish Line Photo Booth and Podium (coming soon!) will be available for free download in galleries uploaded to Facebook.

2019 Results King and Queen of the Mountains

Results from the Cancer Journeys Foundation King and Queen of the Hill and Prostate Cancer Awareness Project King and Queen of the Mountains contests are posted at SVE Timing.

At the event, King and Queen of the Hill winners (first place on Mole Hill timed segment, 5-year age groups, in Valley View Challenge and Mt Solon Metric Century categories) were recognized and awarded a pair of The Alpine Loop Gran Fondo socks by Ridge Supply.

King and Queen of the Mountains winners (top-3, 5-year age groups, Alpine Loop and combined Shenandoah Mountain routes) were recognized and awarded a Prostate Cancer Awareness Project jersey and The Alpine Loop Gran Fondo socks by Ridge Supply.

Couples Conquer the Mountains contest results will soon be posted. Prostate Cancer Awareness Project jerseys were awarded to Keystone Racing, the top team in this category.

2019 Route Maps, GPS Downloads

2019 routes are ready for download and turn-by-turn event-day use.

Route maps for the 2019 Alpine Loop Gran Fondo are viewable on the Routes page. To download or print cue sheets, click “view full route” in the upper left corner of the desired route frame on the routes page. Participants are encouraged to download the GPS files to their navigation devices in advance of the event. Cue sheets will be available at registration tables on site.
